Welcome to the wiki of the Anthropology of the Contemporary Research Collaboratory!

To ARC and Its Orbit:

1) Create an account at the link you see at the righthand top of this page.

2) Get to know the wiki by developing your "individual page" (follow the link below). Include your email, phone #, affiliation, a photo (if you want), your current research ... whatever you like. Use it as an opportunity to figure out how to edit the wiki. This wiki uses the MediaWiki program, which is the same as Wikipedia's. This site has some good tips, as does The Wikipedia Help page.

Use the tabs at the top of the editing box (which will appear when you click on your name). You save your page by clicking "save page" at the very bottom of the screen. You can also preview it before saving--to see that you've set things up as you want them--by clicking "show preview." Regardless, you can go back and edit the page as many times as you like.

3) Customize your wiki access using the Preference Page: click on 'preferences.'
